Hello wonderful people. It’s been a really busy week and hope you all have been doing well.
We are approaching yet another weekend and indeed a weekend that commences with the World Health day!
So today I’m back with another collaboration post with my ever amazing group of bloggers. This time we’ll be writing on health! I’m about to seize this moment to share my insights on health.
We live in an age where fitness is a craze. Every third person I come across is in some way conscious about his/her fitness and eating habits.
The workouts that our generation does within the walls of the gym were once done by our ancestors in the open. Our lifestyle has forced that change.
There was a time when a protruding belly was seen as a sign of a wealthy household. Now it’s nearly a shame.
Such have been the changes over the years.
However, one area I feel we still have struggled is our mental health. The number of suicides have risen, children can’t bear their parents scolding them. The outlook towards women has changed. Social insecurities and communal riots.
How important do you think is mental health? Shouldn’t mental health also get the attention it actually needs? Is it ok to be fit physically only?
Health is defined as a state of physical, social and mental health. The physical part is popular but I seriously think the social and mental part needs to make progress too.
On this World health day let’s work to cover all the fundamentals of health and not just make it all about the external appearance.
This post was part of a collaboration. Please do spare some time to read what my fellow bloggers have to say regarding health.
Here are the links to their respective posts:
Have a great weekend. God bless!
We work more on the body because itβs harder to hide as in our mental health itβs invisible therefore easier to hide!

Iβm happy to see you back with the collaboration, Jothish, and great post! I agree with the fancy pictorial quote; real health is a reflection of our core. Mental health is still a stigma in many parts of the world, and Iβm glad you wrote this post. π

βThere was a time when a protruding belly was seen as a sign of a wealthy household. Now itβs nearly a shame.β
I gave “me” from my childhood a big high five when I saw this. I mean… that girl was rich!! Ha ha.
What a truly insightful and practical post. Short but powerful.

I never expected that statement to get this popular but surprisingly it’s the talk of the town now π€£. I gave you a reason to remember your childhood, wait you’re still a child!

πππ no I’m not. If we want to go literally, then technically I’m a teen and not necessarily a child ππ

Yes jothish, mental stress & issues related to mind increased drastically in last 5 years or so.. I think it’s due to change in our work culture & lifestyle changes.

I like that you raised mental health in your post. Short, but very meaningful post on how we need to tackle all areas of health and not just one topic. And yes, concept of health changes over time but it still boils down to healthy eating and healthy lifestyle.

True words. It’s easy to appear healthy but real health is all about inner reflection. It is vital to work upon inner self than external self. Nice advice, doctor.

Well said, Jothish! I always love your words. You sound like Yoda. Ha ha. This made me laugh, “There was a time when a protruding belly was seen as a sign of a wealthy household. Now itβs nearly a shame.” I laughed because it sounded funny, but it’s very true. Have a wonderful weekend.

I agree that there are more social insecurities and not enough emphasis on mental health. It seems that social insecurities make us more body conscious. There seems to be more and more people into their physical appearance, which isn’t a bad thing. Except it seems we’ve stepped away from being mind conscious or aware of the health of our minds.
We’re so external now, that we don’t look internally.
Perhaps, it’s because we can see the physical but not see into someone’s mind or thoughts. I think that we need to shift our priority and make mental health at the top of the list.
