Mr. 2017

Hello wonderful people! A new year is less than a month away and perhaps all of us are busy counting our good and bad memories. Today I am trying something different. What if 2017 was an individual and he wanted to talk to you before we discard him forever. Over to him!

Hey guys, Mr. 2017 here. I thought I should address you before Mr.History comes to pick me up in a few days time.

My father Mr. 21st century once told me,”Son always remember that people in the world will receive you with a grand celebration. Don’t be fooled by this short lasting love because humans are so fickle minded that even if a few bad incidents occur, they’ll start blaming you. They call you unlucky. They tend to forget the fact that they were fortunate enough to see you and that every reaction is a result of their own actions.” Newton told you that long ago but you seem to have buried him in science and technology.

My father was very true. It’s a pity to see you guys calling yourselves unfortunate.

When we were created, we learned that our journey would last for just 12 months. We were told that each of our months had their unique identity. January the month of celebrations, February of love and so on. A journey which takes us through every possible emotion. However I realised during my rein that not many people tend to enjoy what life offers to them.

Life is like a circle. If you don’t realize your mistakes the first time, you will eventually come across the same situation later in life and that will teach you the lessons you once chose not to learn.

As my end comes closer I know I can’t change anything that has already occured but I would advise you to make sure that my end is the discovery of a new dimension of your lives.

It’s good to make resolutions but I would advise you to make them not because my younger brother 2018 is being born but because you want to be a better individual.

Live your lives not the trends. New ways of unlocking your smartphones will keep getting popular but at the end of your life what will matter is how open and unique your way of living life is.

My name will be imprinted in the annals of Mr. History forever but I hope my fond memories and the lessons learnt from me will dwell with you forever.

May God bless you!

I have a degree in accounting but my career is taking me to new paths..so I needed to get certified to get paid accordingly 😊 I’m so happy to be almost done! Now hopefully it brings me great success.

  1. That’s an interesting way of writing! I love how you put all those wise words in an individual that is Mr. 2017, child of Mr. 21st Century. And these are definitely wise words. πŸ˜€
